Farmhouse Style Dreams
I know wedding season is in full swing here, but with the feel of fall in the air lately, it’s got me dreaming about all my farmhouse style dreams! This girl needs some property and a farmhouse like yesterday! I mean, anyone who runs a business needs an amazing home office right?
Being the daughter of a builder, and the wife of a man who is always searching the local real estate listings, I have naturally acquired a love for real estate myself! I actually have taken all the classes to get my real estate license, but I still need to take my exam!
Growing up, we lived in some pretty awesome houses! I may be partial, but I would definitely consider my dad to be one of the best builders in our area here in the Flathead Valley, in Northwest Montana. We live just outside Glacier National Park where people come to build their dream homes! He has an incredible attention to detail and doesn’t take any shortcuts!
But if we are giving credit where credit is due, his other half is what sets him apart from his competition. My stepmom has an incredible knack for interior design, and to this day none of us understand how she has not started her own business! Sure, she has helped a few friends or businesses redesign their spaces over the years, but she really could give Joanna Gaines a run for her money!
While my dad has built many amazing homes over the years, their most recent was by far my favorite to date. Wood flooring, a glass door leading into the master bedroom, a stand alone tub, and shiplap walls. These are all the things my farmhouse dreams are made of!
As sad as I was to see it sell, I am excited for the new owners. I will just have to live my farmhouse dreams vicariously through them….for now!
I am on a mission to buy property in 2020 and build my dream farmhouse! So Dad….make sure you keep that tool belt handy…you’re going to need it!

Thank you! The paint color is Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams. The lights are outdoor lights from Home Depot.
I absolutely love you bedroom! That accent color is to die for! When I look up Iron Ore it looks nothing like the color in the picture. It looks more black/charcoal. I see more of a blue grey when I look at your picture. Is it just the lighting?
It must be! This was my parent’s house. My dad builds custom homes. This one had a lot of natural light as well, which probably has to do with how the color looks.

Yes! The bedroom has a lot of natural light coming in so it changes the way it looks a bit.
I see the bedroom accent wall is iron ore, do you recall the paint color of the white shiplap and walls in that room? I love the contrast!
I believe it is called ivory. I can check with my parents. It was their home.
The ceiling fan in the bedroom is amazing! Where is that from?

Thank you! The wood beams were from a local reclaimed wood shop. The fan is from Houzz, Home Depot or Lowes. I really need to contact my parents and get all the info! I had no idea 2 million people would view this every month!

Flooring is LVP from Shaw and the color is Antique Oak. It is not engineered.
